Vice President for FCC Additives
Dr Paul A. Diddams is currently Vice President for FCC Additives for Johnson Matthey’s Refineries Division. When Johnson Matthey acquired Intercat in November 2010, Paul held the position of Vice President of Technology, providing guidance to help Intercat develop pragmatic solutions to the wide-range of increasingly complex challenges facing refiners today.
Before joining Intercat, Paul worked for The University of Wales, Swansea, U.K.; British Petroleum, Sunbury-on-Thames, U.K.; Grace GmbH, Worms, Germany and Total Internationale, Le Havre, France.
In all gaining over 25 years experience in refining and catalysis.
Within BP, Paul ran the Fluidized Catalytic Cracking (FCC) catalyst evaluation laboratory and provided advice to BP refineries globally on FCC catalyst issues.
Within Grace, Paul held many senior positions with roles including Technical Service, Sales, Marketing, Research & Development, rising to General Manager responsible for Grace’s Specialty Catalyst Business in Europe, Middle East, Russian Federation & Africa.
Within Total, Paul was the group’s Senior Refining Expert specialising in FCC, providing advice on all aspects of FCC technology.
Paul, holds a 1st Class B.Sc. Honours Degree in Chemistry from The University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from The University of Cambridge and is considered a leading expert in the refineries industries.
